Startup Idea: Celestial Navigation Learning App for Sailors

Startup idea to develop an app that harnesses the smartphone camera capabilities to capture images of the night sky, recognize star patterns, and through those images, teaches users celestial navigation techniques.

I am a sailor and would like to learn celestial navigation. Could I use the camera to take pics of the stars and have the software recognize the changes in images over time to show me how to use the sky to find my location and bearing? (Without GPS)
