Startup Idea: Develop Software for Efficient Automation in Small Automotive Repair Shops

Summary for idea #244
Startup idea to devise a user-friendly software solution that operates smoothly on multiple platforms, including Apple and iPad, specifically designed for small automotive repair shops. This system should centralize and automate parts lookup, labor hours calculation for each repair job, and potentially integrate training modules for mechanics. The goal is to streamline tasks, save time, and improve competency within small automotive repair shops.

They're are very little programs in the automotive repair industry. For small shops like ours, we use the Mitchell1 system. It works only on windows and on tablets. Nothing for apple or ipad. The program is tough to learn, which makes it hard for our mechanics to use. Because of that, you have to find a person, which are very few of, to be a service writer. This person looks up the parts and hours due for each repair. On the Mitchell1 system, you have to go to different parts sites to even find one part, and a whole other site to find the hours for a job. All in all, it would be nice to have either a program to either train our mechanics, or a whole new system that is easier to use, with less part finding, (maybe a program that goes to all part stores, not just one at a time)and includes hours automatically when entering a part for the repair. The Mitchell1 is the most popular, and as far as I know, the only one used in small repair shops.
