Startup Idea: Digital Drink Rolodex for Bartenders

Summary for idea #2450
Startup idea to develop a software for bartenders that serves as a digital drink rolodex. It auto-updates with new popular drinks, selects the most commonly listed recipe for each drink, and suggests recipes based on the available liquors. The software would be designed to potentially integrate with cash handling systems and operate on handheld devices.

I work as a bartender for a military organization. My biggest difficulty is looking up drinks, especially new ones and consistent drinks. Such as the Bahama Mama, there are many different versions. The software I think would help this issue is a digital drink rolodex that could be loaded on a tablet or better yet the computer system used by the company for cash handling so it does not appear that I do not know what I am doing by looking up a drink. Something that is handheld and would run similarly to a GPS. It would update itself to with new popular drinks by linking with a site where bartenders could upload recipes. The system would however automatically choose the recipe that has been listed the most. In other words, 100 bartenders uploaded a Bahama Mama recipe. The software would identify the most common recipe and that would be the one that will show up in the roledex rather than having a million different options pop up. Another good feature would be for the business owner or bartender to have the ability to upload the liquors they carry and have the software feed back drinks that could be made with what you have on hand. I would pay for this software if it worked and would make it more efficent to find a recipe when it is busy and you are pressed for time.
