Startup Idea: Document Comparison Software for Various File Formats

Startup idea to develop a software solution for comparing and blacklining multiple types of documents including images in .pdf format, Excel files, and PowerPoint presentations. The tool aims to increase productivity and efficiency in large law offices or similar settings where frequent collaborative edits and reviews are required.

Three problems I continually run into concern blacklining/comparisons:

1. Comparison of .pdfs that originate as images;
2. Comparison of Excel (or other spreadsheet) files; and
3. Comparison of PowerPoint documents.

I work in a large law office, and everyone's wanting to make changes and see the differences in these files, and, for #1 and #2, I'm always having to drop the text into a word document and make a "quick and dirty" blackline, and it's not always successful. There are really no options for .pdfs.

I know our law firm has tested at least a few applications that have attempted to compare Excel files, but none have done a really good job. We were certainly willing to pay for this software for an entire firm of users, had it done the job well.
