Startup idea to develop a software to track the time and materials usage of contractors in civil engineering projects. The goal is to ensure the contract work is aligned with the design plans and to minimize the need for on-site presence as much as possible.

I work as a civil engineer designing and inspecting infrastructure improvements.

It is hard to track the time and materials of the contractors to ensure they are constructing what has been designed. Being able to double check the contractor without traveling to each job site would be great.

If software tracked the contractor, it would save a lot of time for the engineer and make the as-builts more accurate. Those would both translate into savings for the engineers and clients.
