Startup Idea: Automated Plant Watering Management Software
I work in the engineering field, but am not an engineer.
The biggest issue I have right now in my daily work is remembering or quantifying the amount of water that my plants and garden should receive. I am fairly analytical, so I ponder this a lot. Plants require a select amount of water based on their size, shape, development, type, etc. and on the weather, humidity, etc. In pondering this, I know there's an engineering solution to this. Through software, one could use a series of devices to analyze the amount of water plants should be receiving. This may require a soil tests (could this be automated), a temperature gauge (tied in?) or a software solution that I could simply plug in weather data (or tie to a website that has historical weather data), and what type of plant I'm growing, when it was planted, etc. and it could give me a quantity to water. Bonus features could include reminders and whatnot else.
I would absolutely pay for software to solve this. However, it has to be economical. If it were done on a mass scale, I think you could charge per growing season or year or something - and incrementally.
Not sure if there are other details you need, if you would like to talk more, shoot me a message.
