Startup Idea: Beeper to Voicemail Conversion Software for Towing Businesses
My best friend has had a towing company (in NJ) for at least 25 years. He has had the same BEEPER number all this time and his loyal/faithful customers (some he has contracts where he's on-call for them) not only know to call that number, they expect to actually beep him versus leaving a voice or text message. He currently laments that in the not to distant future, he will have to convert people to leaving a voicemail instead. Seems like there might be more than one small to medium business that still needs to update all systems like this; also seems like this could be resolved with a simple program. If it matters, he is with AT&T and just bought a Samsung Galaxy J3 for his primary work cell phone, but again the number/situation in question is dealing with his actual honest to god pager/beeper. I thought perhaps a phone with a dual-sim and some sort of program could be utilized in conjunction with each other... Like if I were to call him on his "phone" line, a dual sim device could be given a program to recognize that it is a voice call. If it is a voice call on ph#1, he could answer the call (and talk) or let it go to voicemail or even default to text. Someone could also TEXT phone #1. Then, if someone goes to NUMERICALLY PAGE ph#2, the same dual sim phone/device would have the same program recognize that someone is calling ph#2 and would NOT ring on his side... and only allow a beep via touchtone or via text. Thank you for the opportunity, I have no idea if it's been done or not, he and I were just speaking on this a day or two ago. I see your contact info, and I will be glad to reach out (ref. will be "Towing Beeper in NJ") and my email is (view contact info).
