Startup Idea: Gym Maintenance and Client Participation Tracking Software
I serve as a financial advisor and computer information specialists, and part time, I work the weekends assisting local gyms and clients with equipment maintenance and training. One local gym constantly fights a battle between management and ownerships for maintenance costs. The gym runs on a shoestring budget, and it has failed to properly maintain a maintenance record and client participation guide. The manager needs a program more reliable then Microsoft Excel. The spreadsheets offer a rough calculation for cost and repairs. However, it would help to create an application to help integrate the different machines and equipment use in the gym. Clients could download the app, and the app could provide access into the gym instead of a magnetic key card. Upon completing a workout, the client could log the data in the system for a rough estimate of the different equipment's use time. Also, gym staff need a system to provide equipment up and downtimes alongside usage. The estimates can provide a better cost analysis for the equipment. It is very hard to explain a machines use by its visual appearance, but empirical data can help build a better maintenance system. The system could provide alerts for the different scheduled maintenance, and it could provide information on equipment replacement timelines and opportunities. I have looked at different software packages and spreadsheet templates. I searched for gym analysis and cost analysis. Many applications and software offer individuals opportunities to track meals, calories, workouts, but businesses have a more demanding set of requirements.
