Startup Idea: Automated Text Analysis and Categorization Tool for Non-Profit Organization

Startup idea to develop a program that can automatically read and analyze new articles from numerous websites to categorize information based on text analysis. This will help non-profit organizations save time and quickly identify relevant information about global trends and advancements in their specific areas of interest.

I am the activity director for a small non-profit which works in latin america. We run a diversity of projects in a number of areas related to both human rights and sustainable development. We need to synthizes a great deal of information about global trends and advancements in these areas, and in pariticular we often need information on projects other organizations are carrying out in different parts of the world outside of our geographic area. We currently have a number of websites which we use to find information, and interns spend a lot of time going over these websites to find relevant information. It would be helpful if we had a program which could read the text of these sites when new articles are posted and categorize different types of information based on text analysis so that we could save the amount of time devoted to this task and could more quickly decide which articles were worth reading.
