Startup Idea: Footwear Recommendation Software For Running Shoe Stores

Startup idea to create a software that tracks and records the footwear recommendations made by veteran salesmen for specific foot shapes and gait analyses. This tool could be used to train new staff on making well-informed shoe selection decisions at a running shoe store.

I am a worker at a running shoe store in a market where we are very dominant in our sales. For the past few years, it has been great seeing the growth in our company, but the growth has lead to issues with training those new to the company. The main issue is providing a sense of which shoes to bring to customers based on a gait analysis.

A solution to this issue would be to provide a technological way of tracking the shoes that a veteran salesman chooses for a certain foot shape, in order to help train the newer crew on how to choose shoes. There are technological advances in video gait analyses, but I am arguing for a model that leaves the gait analyses to the individual salesman that also tracks his/her choices to help train and/or correct choices in the act.
