Startup Idea: Manufacturing Design Tracking Software

Startup idea to develop a software that simplifies the tracking of design drawings with the corresponding manufactured parts. This software should require users to check in and check out when they start and finish manufacturing a part, correlating the design drawings using the part code.

I work in engineering and a frequent issue we have on the manufacturing side of design is that we have no method to track the design drawing with the part manufactured. This has caused lots of headaches, lost time and wasted resources. Over the year, we usually produce over 1000 parts and use a folder to keep track of drawings, however, this has led to disorganization and confusion. We also use solid works to produce these drawings. It would be great for there to be a software to track design drawings using its part code with its part my making the person manufacturing check in and check out when they start and finish the part. If software exists for this solution, we will gladly pay for it. We have tried several solutions for this, including google sheets, microsoft project. Though they have helped us streamline workflow, none of these solve our specific problem. Now, we use a paper file system to sign off on manufactured parts, but this is very inefficient.
