Startup Idea: Customer Rating Application for Software Consultants

Startup idea to develop a customer rating platform for software consultants. A platform which allows contractors to rate and reveal potential issues with customers, to help identify and avoid problematic engagements before committing to a contract. The platform would mirror the concept of consumer rated reviews sites like Yelp, but for the software consulting industry.

I work in the software consulting business. We don't have a way to rate customers and discover problem environments until it is too late. Contractors do not have the same rights under the labor code as employees and once you take a contract position there is no easy way to leave it without a large possibility of not getting paid for work done on outstanding invoices. Some situations are difficult because of internal staff saboteurs, managers who change the requirements mid stream and want free work and accounts payable policies with long delays of 45-90+ days.

I believe that there is a market for this type of application. I would be interested in it and I am sure that my colleagues would.

The implications could be as industry changing as yelp and other consumer-based rating websites.
