Startup Idea: Agriculture Market Information App

Startup idea to develop an application that allows producers to communicate local price dynamics and regional market information. The app could provide analytical tools to interpret data and improve information flow between remote markets, hence improving decision-making for producers on a weekly basis.

I work in agriculture specifically in greenhouse tomato production. I work with groups of producers from mexico and central america and help coordinate them with US domestic and local markets. My problem is that while many producers have access to internet via cell phones, there is no way to reliable communicate information about local price dynamics. In particular rural regional market information. Being able to do so would help us make better decisions for producers on a week to week basis, and improve our work. An app that allowed producers in our groups tyo communicate that information, provide analytical tools to interpret that info and allows better flow of info between remote markts would be great.
