Startup Idea: Motorcycle Trip Planning App with Weather Integration

Startup idea to develop an app specifically tailored for motorcycle travellers. This app would integrate mapping software with real-time weather predictions, providing forecasts for each point along the set route. Additional features could include alternate route suggestions, points of interest to wait out adverse weather, and time-adjusted temperature averages.

I travel by motorcycle cross country at least once per year. Usually logging well over 1000 miles per trip. I would love to have an app that would assist in planning my day's trip.

If a program such as google maps, or similar mapping software could have a weather prediction integrated with the appropriate forecasts for the day for each point along the route, it would save at least 10 minutes every morning that could be dedicated to enjoying the trip vs. planning every detail.

A quick summary of the day's forecast along the route, such as percentage of rain likely hood across the day, as well as average daily temperature spanning the entire route (with time adjusted arrivals throughout the day) would be great. If possible, a stellar feature would include suggestions for alternate routes, or even points of interest that would allow appropriate time for weather to blow over.

One of my favorite questions to answer is 'what do you do when it rains?' which the answer is, of course, 'we get wet'. But with a bit of software, that could be possibly avoided, or at least predicted more accurately.

Weather . com has a similar feature, but does not project their forecasts based on arrival time, and the forecasts are spread 2-400 hundred miles apart, which translates into several hours of travel time and is effectively useless.
