Startup Idea: Automated Irrigation System Software

Startup idea to develop a cost-effective software that can automate the drip irrigation system in farms. The software should be able to open and close the valves at specific times without human intervention. An accessible smartphone application version would be a significant addition.

I work in the agriculture industry as tech support/IT. One of the major problems we have is due to my particular farm's outdated irrigation system, there is no way to automatically turn the drip irrigation on and off.

Therefore, we have to get workers to manually open all of the valves at certain times in the day. I think a piece of software that automatically opens the tap in the morning, at noon and in the evening would be a big seller in this industry. The software would be especially popular if it was an app for a smartphone. We tried to see if there was any software that could link up to the pipes, didn't find any for a reasonable price.
