I work in the field of real estate law. In my day to day workflow, I deal with interpreting legal descriptions. Legal descriptions can be converted from text to a boundary on a map, but it is very tedious. To interpret a legal description is somewhat like reading code, but I would imagine that a computer could do it fairly quickly if the appropriate software were developed. I can find legal descriptions from deeds available online and chart the properties using assessor's maps, but it is time consuming. My firm would likely spend over a thousand dollars a year to use software like this.

I've searched for legal description interpreter, legal description mapper, and various other terms. I currently do not have a solution to this problem and determine the mapped area from the legal description manually.
