Startup Idea: Developing Enhanced Scripts for MTurk
I work primarily on the Mturk platform, and as you may know, many of the workers utilize scripts to help them work more efficiently and keep track of their information, as Mturk itself handles these shortcomings very poorly, even with the site update.
There are a few ideas for scripts for Chrome/Firefox that I have that are needed by the workers. We need a way to block/highlight or notify about certain requesters or hits through the main worker.mturk.com site. There are few ways to block or include requesters through the scripts themselves, such as a function in Hit Notifier (or Hit Scraper), (which is a script/extension that shows/logs all the hits posted to the main site), to block/include entries on that tab. We also desperately need a database for hits completed, essentially our daily logs but in a searchable database, and that logs more than the last 45 days worth of work, preferably with an option to import/export the contents of the database, much like the old Mturk Hit Database, which sadly, has not been updated to work with the new site.
Also, as you may know, Mturk workers are not willing to pay for their scripts outright, but I know many who donate generously (relatively speaking) to the developers. If you do this, I most certainly will. There is currently no way to solve either problem, but as I stated, there are similar fixes, just not quite what I think the majority of workers need. I use the functions in Hit Notifier and Hit Tracker to perform some basic needs.
