Startup Idea: Startup Idea for an mTurk Activity Tracking System
Hi! I'm an mTurk worker, and I have the same problem here that a lot of other users have - we can't keep track of the HITs we've already completed and the ones we've never looked at yet.
Can you see the list of HITs that are available for mTurk workers? I think you can. I go back and forth through that list several times a day, looking for interesting HITs to do that I haven't already done yet. The problem is, it's hard to tell the ones I've done from the ones I haven't, and a lot of other workers complain about this, too.
The first time I click the preview of a HIT, the color of the word "preview" turns from one color to another and stays that way for a day, or sometimes a couple of days, and that's nice, because it reminds me that I've already done that task and not to click it again. But some of these HITs are up on this site for days, even WEEKS, and after a day or two, the word coloring returns to its original color and the HIT blends back in with all the other HITs, old and new, already done and not done.
There are so many HITs with similar titles that we're not always sure if a particular HIT is an old one or a new one. It sure would be nice to know that. It would save a lot of us a lot of time and trouble clicking on HITs we've already done but didn't realize we'd done, and then having to return them.
Is there any chance you could come up with something to solve this problem for us? I'd be willing to pay for it, if it wasn't too expensive, and I bet a lot of other people would, too!
If that's the kind of project you're looking for and you decide to go forward with it, as soon as you have a product that would take care of this problem for us, I'm sure you could advertise it on all the mTurk forums. (There are several of them out there.) I have no idea how much money you could make with it, but under the right circumstances, I'm sure it would be a winner!
Thanks for your consideration. I hope you'll tackle this. And good luck on all your other projects, too!. This is NOT my area of expertise or I would have found a solution to this a long time ago. I haven't found anything to help me with this anywhere. I'm hoping you might be able to help with that.
