Startup Idea: Virtual Workstation for Freelancers

Startup idea to develop a simple and user-friendly application tailored for freelance professionals, especially contract writers. The application should allow tracking of clients and jobs, easy retrieval of stored information, document and folder organization, and cloud storage. The software is envisioned to be a virtual workstation with mobile compatibility, allowing access and updates from anywhere.

I am self employed to do contract writing (in addition to a second job as a teacher, but you didn't want ideas for schools...though a homework tracker app that students and parents can sync could be a route to go....). My work could involve anything from assisting a client with a resume to creating ads for clients to freelance articles. I often have to shift between things for organization purposes. I would love to be able to open a small, simple program where I could keep track of clients and jobs I have done, store helpful information to easily retrieve, etc. There are some similar programs but for someone like me, they have too many bells and whistles, so to speak. Sometimes that is a turn off, even if they are affordable. I would heavily consider purchasing a product that was simple... a simple database of clients that I can easily link to the jobs I did for them. A place for folders of helpful information I have found, sources I have to cite, stock photos. Essentially a workstation that keeps these things separate on my personal computer, because...hey, self employed. I often use personal items to complete client jobs...my computer is one of them. This particular program could be made even better if it had a cloud service accessibility (not sure if that becomes too complex for what you are looking for). But to be able to access the 'workstation'portion of my computer when I am not in front of it from an app on my phone would be very helpful. I could retrieve information as well as update it without bringing my laptop everywhere I go. I could be out snapping pics and uploading them directly to a folder so I do not have to sync later. I could be out and end up meeting a potential client...and rather than have to make an appointment, we could get started on some basics right there. But again, it is something I would want to have a simple interface. Literally, a virtual workstation...just on the smae computer I use for everything else, but a separate thing I could access and not have to switch in and out of everything else I have to do so often. It seems as if you are on a venture, and I wish you the best of luck in it! If for some reason you do go with something along the lines of my idea, I would like to be kept up to date to either make the purchase myself or to share with others.
