Startup Idea: Trade Show Visitors Information Collection App

Startup idea to develop a simple and effective app to run on a tethered iPad that allows trade show visitors to directly input their details for contests and more information. The app should also have the ability to validate the inputted information real time and keep users from exiting the program unnecessarily, thus eliminating the challenges associated with manual transcription.

I used to work a lot of trade shows. People who were interested in more information or in our contests would sign their name and contact information on a piece of paper. Later on we would have to transcribe this list into a spreadsheet. The problem is that most people have bad handwriting anyway, even worse on a hurried trade show floor. There is also no way to validate the information real time. There are $$ products available, that are usually tied to large ticket items. There isn't anything I have found that could run on a tethered ipad, that also keeps people from exiting the program.
