I work in technology, SaaS based product that provides software for marketing creation (editing, sending, reporting, analytics) - this is mostly a DIY solution, with very limited DIFM services, as it does not make sense for us to manage the process except for very large list customers. The majority of our users (80%, or roughly 450,000 users) are small businesses. They have either limited time or limited knowledge when it comes to creation.

It would be extremely helpful for these users to have technology at their finger tips that could either generate content for them based off of inputs or a logic/input tree (or based on industry, readership, etc) or crawl the internet for them to pull content that is related to what they want to market. Taking it a step further, the ability for them to see content others (similar to them) have used, and be able to see success rates or specific KPIs based off of those campaigns would be extremely useful.

It is often said that you "don't know what you don't know" and the problem with marketing for many SMBs is that they do not possess the expertise on how to expand their business past a certain point. Being able to use pre-vetted info, that is backed up by data, would give them the confidence to market out to new customers. This type of thing could be used not just for marketing campaigns (1-to-1, e mail/automated campaigns) but also potentially help them with social media advertising, Facebook messenger marketing, etc. There are a few things out there that address part of the problem, whether it is how they write out their marketing campaigns, or for finding some (but extremely limited) content - this also poses a problem that the content is often times unable to be used unless they are willing to pay large fees. Most content generation sites do not possess the granularity a lot of SMBs are looking for, meaning it is usually generalized content and not specific to industry, objective, etc.
