Startup Idea: Revit Add-in for Auto-updating Project Estimation

Startup idea to develop a Revit add-in that auto-generates project cost estimates based on real-time design information and integrates RS Means data for reliability and yearly updates.

I work as an Electrical designer for building systems and part of my job is estimating the cost of our projects for our clients during the design of new buildings. Currently we us an excel sheet we have generated using RS Means to estimate our project costs and constantly update the excel file as the design develops.

We are using Autodesk Revit software for our design and it would be fantastic if there was an add in developed that could output our design information and automatically update a reliable estimate. It would also be incredible if this software updated with the latest RS Means information every year when it comes out.

Our company and many in the building industry would pay a lot for a lisence for software like this.
