Startup idea to develop a software integration that allows librarians to scan a book's barcode and automatically fetch the book information from OCLC to Koha without having to manually input the ISBN numbers and look up Dewey Decimal number.
Original submission by someone willing to pay to get a problem solved (not AI)
I work as a librarian. I often have to catalog books from scratch using Koha library system. Currently, a lot of the info has to be looked up, such as Dewey Decimal number associated with the book. Right now I use OCLC Classify: http://classify.oclc.org/classify2/ I would like the ability to scan a book's barcode, and have the book information from OCLC available in Koha. I believe my library would pay for this. I use the copy-catalog feature of Koha, but right now I have to type in the ISBN numbers manually, and many books are missing from these databases that are however available in OCLC.
