Startup Idea: Cycling Shop App for Efficient Bike Fittings

Startup idea to develop an application that uses a phone or tablet's camera to accurately measure a customer's positioning for bike fittings. This time-efficient tool would include options to input the cyclist's physical statistics, style of riding, frame size, and analyse pedal stroke to ensure correct alignment.

Industry I work in: Cycling shop that offers bike fittings. Problem: Too much time spent on bike fittings fine tuning to get the exact right fit. Would I pay: Yes! Why: If it saves time for us to fit a customer and still get a quality bike fit, then that puts more time back in our hands to work with the customer on accessories for their bike or other sales and bike fittings. Plus it would add perceived value to the service.

An app that could use the camera of a phone or tablet to measure the body positioning of a cyclist getting fitted for a bike. This would include the options to put in the rider's height, arm length, leg length, sex, style of riding, and bike frame size. It would also be able to analyze a rider's pedal stroke to make sure the knees and hips are in good alignment. This would eliminate extra time spent fine tuning and physically adjusting multiple parts when performing a bike fitting on a client.
