Startup Idea: Developing Hospitality Information Distribution Software

Startup idea to create a solution providing Bed and Breakfast guests with real-time, location-based information through either RFID, WiFi or a dedicated mobile app. This tool would supply guests with relevant details (e.g. amenities, breakfast time, house instructions etc.) as they move around the property, enhancing their experience and freeing up the owner's time.

I am the owner of a Bed and Breakfast in Texas USA. One of the most challenging things about our work is waiting for people to show up so we can personally greet them and explain all the things they need to know in order to have a comfortable stay. For example, what the amenities are like complementary sodas, water, tea coffee, snacks etc. . ., how to turn on the shower, what time breakfast will be served, how to regulate the temperature. . .

I believe our younger guests do not appreciate this personal touch and would rather have the information they need at their fingertips when they actually want it. ..

I would love to have a software that would work via some kind of wifi or rfid where they would get the info they need as they come on the property and move about - for example when they come into the dining room they would get a message "breakfast is served at 9am and there are complementary drinks in the refrigerator".

Alternately this could be an app that we send them (like Carnival Cruise line) prior to arriving and they could access the app to get a FAQ kind of experience. . .

Overall this would be good for guests to get the info exactly when they need it and for us to keep people from being frustrated and save us time.
