Startup Idea: Automated Measurement Software for Microscope

Startup idea to develop an automated software that can learn and execute necessary detailed measurements on nanotechnology chips and semiconductors using an optical microscope. The idea is to significantly reduce the time consumption in the manual mistreatment in labs and increase efficiency.

I am an engineer who has been working in the nanotechnology field for a little over 4 years. On a daily basis, I take chips and other semiconductor devices and make very detailed measurements using a common optical microscope with a camera. This is very time consuming as I need to take one measurement at a time and there are 10-15 measurements that must be taken on each chip.

It would be great if there was a piece of software that I could connect to our microscope camera and teach it what measurements it needs to take when I place a certain piece under the microscope. Ideally, I would "teach" it the points myself and it would eventually be able to do it on its own and just spit out the numbers. This would be useful not only in our lab, but in labs all across the country that go through the same types of research and development iterations.
