Startup Idea: Narrative-Based Sports Stats Scraper

Startup idea to develop software that pulls together data on 'narratives' commonly monitored by sports professionals, like a player's birthday, hometown, and other personal event, to provide insights for predicting their performance. Tools already exist for stats scraping, but this fills in the gap for profiling more personal and human factors.

One way that I earn money is by playing skill games that require you to utilize some knowledge of sports data and/or situations to predict what will occur in the next game. The two main ways this is done are daily fantasy sports (you make your own team comprised of players from various teams from around the league in that sport to try to get the team that will produce the most relevant stats for that day/weekend) and betting player props (predicting if a professional athlete will product a stat in that game that is over or under the set number that they give you which is usually their average on the season)

People already have optimizers and stat scrapers and things of that nature but the thing that would be extremely profitable that does not yet exist is a program that handles a different factor commonly referred to, in the industry, as a "narrative" . These narratives which Very often make a player produce above average include but are not limited to that day being the players's birthday, the player playing his old team, the player playing in his home town where he grew up or went to college, a recent death or birth in his family, playing against a close relative on the other team etc

If there was some kinda program that cataloged at least the birthdays and home-towns, it would be highly affective in gaining that extra edge. Backtest it if you want but it's definitely true. I've looked around and normally these things are just passed around in certain groups by word of mouth but you miss a lot of great opportunities that you didnt know about because I dont think anyone with developer expertise has tackled this issue. I've looked around and asked around and viewed numerous iterations of paid software that supposedly help you gain such an edge. Search terms include: sports birthday notification, hometown games alert . Someones gonna make this and lots of people are gonna buy it or subscribe to it when they do. People play these games every day and dont mind spending a little money to gain an edge.
