Startup Idea: Software Solution for Improving Communication in Radiation Therapy Treatments

Summary for idea #2970
Startup idea to build a feature or application to provide Radiation Therapists with access to patient contact information during ARIA system downtime. This is to enable efficient patient communication in case of delays or cancellations, improving the experience for patients, particularly the elderly.

I am a Radiation Therapist who treats cancer patients. When we experience software issues, we cannot treat our patients. We cannot access patient information to even get their phone number to call and rearrange their appointment time. It is a huge inconvenience for our patients to have to come and sit in our waiting room for an extended period of time or to get turned away from treatment.

Our ARIA system has a lockout feature that disables when an issue arises. In an ideal world, a feature could be developed to allow us to access their phone number to communicate anticipated delays. Many patients are elderly and risk coming out in extreme weather for treatment, when an issue arises, we like to prevent as much movement as possible. We have communicated to the developer, it seems to be the least important feature on their to-do list.
