Startup Idea: Efficient Route Optimization Software for Delivery Services

Startup idea to develop a sophisticated route optimization software that can effectively manage and streamline the delivery process for small-scale and independent couriers. The system can facilitate better planning of routes, help in handling multiple deliveries seamlessly, and avoid erroneous orders for improved efficiency.

A problem in the transportation/delivery industry is routing for deliveries. I have been an indepedent contractor who delivers a large variety of items. Through different companies (Amazon, Lasership, DHL, American Expediting) I have had the experience where they route you and the routes DO NOT MAKE SENSE. It can be greatly time consuming checking the toure that has ben given for errors, addreses that are not listed, addresses the system could not find and a large list of issues. I am sure FEdEx and UPS can afford systems and people to do these tedious tasks for them. But in the small sect, it's a mess! It's not about tracking the items but simply routing how to deliver for example in a day over 100 packages to buyers. A good system could maybe be one where the barcodes are scanned as they are put on the truck and routed that way as the items are scanned. That way, what is on the truck, the address is placed into the route. Often times, I get routes and addresses for packages that are not even being delivered that day. So many errors happen for smaller couriers that is very time consuming. Would I pay for the software, given the price, yes. It's a pain because I can spend an hour just mapping out my route, another hour loading and other sundy items just to be able to start my route and hope I am route most effective. The truth is, some days there is barely time to get gas, use the restroom, eat etc. I have used other programs and they are just a tedious, and end up having to change the stop and the order because they just do not make sense.
