Original submission by someone willing to pay to get a problem solved (not AI)

I'm a freelance photographer and it’s been hard to find a good find a good way to showcase, backup, and share photographs that I shoot, while maintaining a level of creative control over how they’re presented. I have a couple different criteria that I’ve searched the web and no-one has met yet.

The first point of my criteria is I am looking to host a portfolio of my best and latest photography in hopes of brining in new freelance work and just to generally get my work out their. This requires me to be able to customize and to control how these photo galleries are presented.

My second point of criteria is to be able to back up and share large batches of photos to my clients. A lot of the current sites and software that satisfy my first point of criteria fail here. It’s easy to make a good looking CMS (like squarespace or zenfolio) but it’s hard to find any that allow you to backup large amounts of photos longterm.

Right now smugmug is doing the best job, but they’re lacking in the customization department. They’re great for storing and sharing large batches of photos, but the site is hard to make look how you want it and lacks flexibility. Yes, I searched various photography portfolio apps and sites. I settled on using smugmug, but it's not a great solution. A better option might be using squarespace and using an FTP to store and share large folders of images, but that feels more cumbersome.
