Startup Idea: AI OCR Medical Billing Data Extraction Tool

Startup idea to create an OCR-based AI solution to streamline the task of acquiring medical billing data, in various formats from multiple clients, and standardize the extraction of important details like names, addresses, dates of birth etc. The recognized data should be exportable to CSV for easy system entry.

I am the operations manager for a medical billing company with 10 employees and 14 clients. Our clients submit charges to be billed to insurance companies. This information comes to us by many means, but usually by fax or email. This data includes patient demographics (name, date of birth, insurance info, etc), the procedure that was performed, and the diagnosis. Each client has a different form they submit, designed by their own office. When entering this data into our own system (AdvancedMD) it can be confusing with no standards between clients. An ideal solution to this problem would involve OCR text and handwriting recognition, with limited AI to recognize names, addresses, date of birth, etc. This data would then be exportable to CSV file. This would streamline data entry and cut costs, making it very worth our investment. Researched several Robotic Process Automation options, but none of them include text recognition.
