Startup Idea: Maintenance Tracking Software for Forklift Repair

Startup idea to develop a software solution specifically tailored to track and manage maintenance, part replacements, costs, and anticipative failure timelines for a forklift repair business. The goal is to replace the cumbersome usage of spreadsheets and notebooks and potentially be a more affordable solution than currently available software designed for larger shipping companies.

The company I work for repairs forklifts. After working there for five years, I find that one of the more annoying jobs is keeping up with what part has been replaced, when it was replaced, how much it cost us for the replacement and when we should expect the next failure to occur.

While some attempts have been made to keep up with repairs to customers equipment, the only software found cost in excess of five grand and is designed to manage upkeep of shipping companies. For now though, a spread sheet and notebook are used, though take time to keep updated.

The only "better" idea anyone has had would be paying someone to create a program that would manage everything, though at this point, I do not see my employer paying for anything "new" to help with the work.
