Startup Idea: 3D Printing Usage Tracking Software

Startup idea to develop a reliable software that can track 3D print jobs and quantities in real-time. The software would work as a plugin for popular 3D printing software like Simplify3D and MakerBot, allowing IT service centers to manage printing usage limits effectively per user.

I work at an IT service center that handles and operates 3D printers.

One pain point in my daily work not yet solved by software are jobs involving 3D printers, where certain printing quantities are tracked, where individual users need to be below a certain amount used per week to be within our limits.

I'm sure my department would be willing to pay for software that can reliably track 3D print totals with few workarounds, and some kind of software plug-in that works with popular 3D printing software (Simplify3D, MakerBot) to track print totals on the fly.

This software would allow my department to effectively and continually track 3D printing habits per user and allow us to more effectively handle our products.
