Startup Idea: Centralized Tourist Information Using Augmented Reality

Startup idea to develop an open database application that centralizes information about interesting places to visit, integrated with augmented reality. This technology allows visitors to point at a location and receive information about it, and possibly see recreations of how the area might have looked in different historical periods.

It is cumbersome to find tourist information in a centralized location, mobile phones help a lot but it is annoying to pay attention to your screen instead of the place you are visiting.

It would be interesting to create a open database of interesting places to visit, capable of pulling infomration from several websites and centralizing it in one place.

More over with the advent of enhanced reality, it would be interesting to be able to point at a location and recive information about it. It would also be interesting if with ehanced reality one could see a recreation of how the place looked at different points in the past. For example how houses or castle ruins used to look, how daily life would have looked like, etc.

This enhanced reality would allow the viewer to enjoy the site while paying attention to it, compare it, experience a little bit of the past and learn about it. A complete immersive experience. I do not posses the technical knowledge to create an app or program like this.
