Startup Idea: Security Personnel Real-Time Location Tracking Software

Startup idea to develop a software solution to actively or passively track the locations of security personnel at their work sites. This will enable the manager to dispatch the nearest officer to an alarm activation, thus cutting valuable response time which can potentially save lives and property.

I work in the security industry. I manage between 7- and 9 personnel for day to day physical security operations at a commercial work site.

One of the major pain points in my daily work is not being able to track the location of my personnel, so that only the nearest - and not *all - security officers are dispatched to alarm activations.

I believe that my employer would certainly pay for the software to solve this problem; although I, myself, would not spend personal funds to increase S/O response time (as my wage is already too low).

Software designed to track security officer locations throughout the day actively (or passively, by recording each security officer's pre-assigned patrol routes when the shift begins) would assist me to select the nearest security officer for any response event, without having to consult all officers on their location prior to dispatching them to a scene. This would cut valuable seconds-to-minutes off response time, and potentially make the essential difference in saving lives and property. I have not tried to find a solution to this problem.
