Startup idea to develop a ride-sharing platform that allows everyday drivers to fill up empty seats with vetted passengers traveling in the same direction, reducing the number of cars on the streets.

I am a taxi driver, a great pain is the amount of cars on the street, for already traveling cars with empty seats. a great amount of cars can be reduced allowing the flow of traffic more efficiently, especially in manhattan. a great software solution can be a program that can allow everyday drivers to somehow vet passengers, and pick up random strangers on the street that are travelling in the direction the driver was driving to anyway, essentially just filling up the empty seat.
