Startup Idea: Custom Veterinary Clinic Management Software

Startup idea to develop a straightforward, affordable veterinary clinic management software that serves small-scale practices. Main requirements include capabilities to efficiently manage change of pet ownership and merge client data.

I run a tiny veterinary clinic (1 veterinarian and 4 employees). Most veterinary software is either only available over the cloud or is much too expensive for such a small practice. Currently we use a program that is made for accounting and tweak it to our needs, but it would be wonderful to have a system that makes it easier to move animals between owners when they are rehomed, merge clients together when they marry, etc. I have looked extensively at veterinary softwares. I searched for veterinary software. Right now we use an accounting program.
