Startup Idea: Startup Idea: Automated Depreciation Software Integrated with ERP Systems

Startup idea to develop a software that automatically handles asset depreciation calculations and creates monthly journal entries, integrated into ERP systems. This solution aims to automatically spit out data, eliminating the need for manual calculations, ultimately saving time for finance departments within organizations.

I've been working at start-ups for the past 6 years in the finance department. I've gone through many different ERP systems, including Quickbooks, Peachtree, and bigger ones like Oracle. None of these have depreciation INCLUDED into the ERP systems. They are always needed as an addition or supplementation to the program.

For Finance, this would be helpful to have amortization done automatically. Basically, I'll spit out a number and need it to be depreciated over a certain number of years. For example, $50,000 expense depreciated over 36 months (3 years). The program should be able to automatically spit out the calculation per month into a journal entry.

Right now, I do all my calculations through Microsoft Excel, so if it could automatically spit out the data for me, it would save me a lot of time.
