Startup Idea: Unix Server Monitoring Tool Development

Startup idea to develop a Unix script to monitor server usage. The software should provide real-time information on the number of Datastage sessions in use, active jobs, currently running processes, and space utilization, enabling in-depth server monitoring and capacity management.

I am working on datawarehousing technology. My area of expertise is Unix administration.

My major issue is that I am finding it difficult to know how many users are using the server at a particular time period.

I think a proper solution would be to develop a unix script to find out how many users are using the datastage sessions which should also be able to tell how many jobs are running, how many process running and how much space is it occupying. This tool would be helpful to monitor the server and keep a close watch on users and the way the server is behaving on the load capacity.
