Startup Idea: Password Storage Using Biometrics on Mobile Devices
I work in the wireless industry and a huge pain point that I have is that people never remember their passwords to important accounts like Gmail and Apple. It can take a very long time to assist these people in password resets as they need to be walked through step by step. It is a very comomon issue that I see atleast three times per work day. I do my best to explain that these accounts hold so much of their personal data, and I stress the importance of them needing to keep their passwords safe, private, confidential, and they need to remember those passwords. Many people I encounter are uneducated on how and why they need to use a gmail or Apple account with their devices. I think a really nice solution would be for phones and tablets to hold and store important passwords, protected by biometrics (fingerprints, eye scanners) that are already on many phones. I think an app, automatically installed on the phones and tablets, that stores their critical passwords would alleviate the stress people often feel when they dont understand the importance of their passwords. Switching to a new phone? Download the same app on the new phone, enter some kind of secirty code, and all your passwords are back, and auto logged in. I know this may be more complicated, but I think it could help a lot in many situations.
