Startup Idea: Music Attribute Analysis and Tagging Software

Startup idea to develop a software that can automatically analyze and tag music with specific attributes such as beats per minute, pitch or octave of vocals, and subject matter. This software could be an add-on to iTunes or standalone software that can process music before being imported to iTunes, increasing efficiency for music professionals.

I work in the music industry - particularly in a field where I need to send music with specific attributes to clients who work in film and television.

Most of our work is done through Itunes and we frequently need to tag music in the comments field with various attributes to search by (beats per minute, subject matter, male or female vocal, etc)

We represent hundreds of thousands of songs but unfortunately have to tag each song manually, which takes a lot of time.

It would be amazing to have a software that could "read" certain attributes in the song and tag it for us. For example, the software could analyze the pitch or octave of the vocals to determine whether or not a male or female is singing.

The software could also analyze the percussion in the song to determine how many beats per minute are in the song.

A software like this would save my company lots of time as it is time intensive to tag manually. It would be ideal to have it as either an add-on to Itunes or a software that could analyze and tag the music before it is entered into the Itunes library.
