Startup Idea: Automated Timekeeping and Payroll Software Solution

Startup idea to develop an automated timekeeping and payroll system for a small chain of hardware stores. Employees would punch in and out via a dedicated computer, and the system would automatically compute and record their hours and pay, streamlining current manual processes.

I am the payroll manager of a small chain of local hardware stores which employs a total of 85 people. We currently have our staff punching a time clock, and at the end of each day I drive to the different locations to manually recorded each persons hours. At the end of the week their daily hours are totaled manually and their final count of hours and pay is manually recorded and a paycheck is cut.

This is an outdated, slow process that could easily be fixed by placing a dedicated computer with timekeeping software (electronic time sheets), and having each employee log in with a code specific to them, and punch in and out every day. The information could be sent electronically to a computer in payroll, where the hours and pay would be then be computed and a check cut.

I would definitely pay for this software.
