I once had a stock trading account with TDAmeritrade. They have a trading platform ('ThinkOrSwim') which allows a user to scan the entire stock market based on certain criteria. However, when I asked them if it would be possible to scan for stocks that have just broken out of a narrow trading range ('channel') I was told this wasn't possible. I know this wouldn't be that difficult to program and it would be very helpful in making trading decisions.
