Startup Idea: Theater Event Management and Freelancer Database Program
I am a manager at a local Theater company. We host many companies from around the world. and produce in house works. We also host events and concerts. We are constantly hiring out many freelancers to help with our events.
Two programs we would need are as follows.
Since we are working with seven spaces and with many companies, we are constantly looking for programs to improve our file storing and sharing capabilities. This includes the ability to share and group edit calendars. There are some programs available for this, such as google calendars, but nothing has been seen that can streamline the process of group calendar editing combined with group file sharing.
A second program we could use would be a way to organize freelancers contact information into a database that would allow for use to plug in information about how many people we need to hire, when, and for what purpose. This program would theoretically allow us to then offer a streamlined way for those freelancers to " sign up for the gig" in other words, there would be some sort of interface with buttons tat say things like "confirm job" THis program would automatically fill the slot in our calendar. A program like this would save time and effort. As of now we have a unorganized way of sending out mass emails, and trying to remember who emailed back when, and often errors are found in our confirmation process. I know other theaters have a problem with this as well. So a program that could help book freelancers could do quite well in the theater world.
