Startup Idea: Scanner Software to Filter Textures from Scanned Images

Summary for idea #3364
Startup idea to develop a software or scanner setting that could filter out textures from scanned images, specifically older pictures with textured paper, without blurring the image. This would ideally save graphic designers a lot of time spent on photoshopping noise out of scanned images.

I am a graphic designer and I often have to scan pictures. Well, a lot of older pictures have textured paper and the textures really show up in the scanned image! It takes forever to photoshop them out. I wish there was a way to filter out a lot of that noise without making the image all blurry.

Maybe a scanner setting? I use an Epson. As far as I know and have researched, nothing simple like that really exists and if it did, I'd save a ton of man hours!. I have googled scanning a textured image and there are techniques if the scanned noise is repetitive (like a pattern), but not if its just random squiggles and speckles all over the place.
