Startup Idea: Integrated Word Processor with Audio Player for Journalists

Startup idea to develop an integrated word processor with audio player designed particularly for journalists and writers that allows them to transcribe interviews or recordings without having to switch between applications. The utility of the software extends to other fields, including academia.

I work as a journalist for a small newspaper. I interview several people a week to write articles for the paper. I record almost all of my interviews instead of writing them down. I usually record them on my phone and then listen to them on my computer while I write the story.

My biggest issue is that I have to have the software that plays the recording and a separate software to write the article open at the same time. I often have to pause, rewind, and fast forward the recording as I write, meaning I have to waste time switching between applications.

I would love a word processor that can also play recordings/music. Journalists can use it for the reason I describe above, but I think other industries can certainly benefit as well. I would even use for college courses to listen to music while I wrote essays.
