Startup Idea: Predictive Analysis for Sports Outcomes

Summary for idea #3399
Startup idea to develop a predictive analysis software for determining sports outcomes. The idea is to build on the SDQL method of real-time online sports data analysis and create an intelligent software that learns from the data and identifies viable trends that can stand the test of time. The end product should be able to predict sports outcomes more accurately.

Sports Outcome Prognostication - is a HUGE multi-billion dollar business on the web. Second ONLY to porn!

I helped develop the SDQL method of real time online sports data analysis of historical results. A typical can be seen here.

NOTE: By develop, I mean some of the after-installation coding. It was originally pioneered by Joe Meyer (https://twitter.com/sdql), but it's open source of course.

It is all digital, all software and a perfect opportunity for what it sounds like your team wants to do.

The general problem with the results this site produces is it's all DUMB DATA. IOW, it's not really very predictive which is the ONLY value these type of dB promise. Otherwise no one cares other than maybe sportscasters.

If you can code something that can learn from the dB (through iteration or whatever) and create some viable trends that do stand the test of time then you will not only be able to make a fortune selling it, you prob can do well yourself in Vegas.

See this interview with Mark Cuban speaking to Bloomberg where he talks about how programs will program other programs and do it better than humans. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2017-02-17/mark-cuban-on-trump-administration-future-of-jobs

That's not just the future, that's the Now. And, this is as golden an opportunity to execute in that space as you'll find. Yes, but only by trial and error. This is a great project for the right 2-team programmer, or one really intuitive guy.
