Startup Idea: Software for Clinical Noting and Billing Prediction

Summary for idea #3419
Startup idea to develop a robust and efficient software for psychologists in private practice. The software would enable clinicians to input notes, log diagnoses, and via algorithms determine the appropriate billing for each session. An ideal solution to tackle the perennial problem of web-based applications going 'down' thus saving clinicians time and money.

I am a psychologist practicing in a private practice setting (small business) currently using a web-based program (currently Anasazi which is a Cerner-based application) for tracking notes that clinicians write for their clients. We continuously run into problems with the web-based site being "down" for periods of time which costs our clinicians time and money. I could benefit from a software program that allows clinicians to input notes, log diagnoses, and then through algorithms tells the clinicians what to bill for their session. Most private practices have been desiring some kind of software that can do this for many, many years, and therefore the market for it is strong. I think that reasonably private practices can expect to pay $10,000 to $20,000 for the software and then a maintenance/update/tech support fee for the software at a couple of thousand dollars a year to make it worth it.
