Startup Idea: Automated Verification System for Healthcare Staffing

Startup idea to develop a software that automatically validates and cross-checks uploaded data in healthcare employment tracking systems. The system should be capable to recognize and interpret various documents like driver’s licenses and detect any mismatch, including cases of potential fraud. It should also raise alerts for irregularities such as expiry dates exceeding the normal time frame.

I work in Healthcare staffing for a large hospital chain. We have over 50,000 employees in all lines of business with over 9,000 contract laborers.

Our employment tracking software does not auto-validate data that is uploaded. EX: if we upload a drivers license, this information is not parsed automatically, rather it takes man-hours to input and validate all data. Time consuming, draining and wasteful.

I would pay to have someone find a fix to this issue, especially if they could help reduce fraud. EX: the system would know that a BLS card expires every two years, it would then note any that show an expiration over those two years and notify admin. Fraud is a major hurdle in healthcare staffing and accounts for ~50% of all lost placements. This hurts patient health, insurance rates and revenue.
