Startup Idea: Automated Firmware and Revision Management Software

Startup idea to develop a software solution that efficiently manages and sorts firmware by model number and firmware revision in the electronics manufacturing process. This software would provide the most up-to-date firmware revision upon entering the model number, cutting down production time and cost.

I work in the manufacturing of electronics. During the production process we need to flash micro controllers on various products. We currently have over 100 products with hundreds of different firmware and revisions.

It is difficult to find the correct firmware and revision during production and often takes us 5-10 minutes to find.

We could use a software that would manage and sort all of our firmware by model number and firmware revision. When we enter the model number the most up to date firmware revision will be provided for flashing of the microcontroller for the product that is being built. This will cut down on at least 3 hours worth of work a week and save my company a fairly decent amount of money.
